WAIKORA STATION

MT COOK
Declared a World Heritage park in 1986, Mt Cook National Park boasts over thirty 3,000 metre high peaks, and five of NZ's largest glaciers including the Tasman Glacier at 21km in length. At 3,751 metres, Mt Cook (Aoraki - in Maori means "cloud piercer") is the highest mountain peak in New Zealand.
BENMORE
Situated approx 40 minutes from Waikora Station is Lake Benmore. One of the 3 Waitaki Valley hydro lakes, all of which an abundance of activities are available, including water-skiing, fishing, windsurfing, sailing, walks and biking.
OMARAMA
The gliding capital of New Zealand. It hosted the 1995 World Gliding Championships and 2006 Gliding Grand Prix. Gliding is an amazing experience not to be missed. Individual hot tubs are also available here. Landscaped mounds with plantings of native flora separate the tubs which are self contained, including a changing room and shower. Enjoy watching the birds on the pond and the gliders surfing the wind currents.
LAKE TEKAPO
Situated approx 1-1/2hrs driving distance from Waikora Station offers a wide range of world class recreational pursuits and a unique mix of activities throughout the year. It's all there, whether it's tramping, mountain biking, climbing, horse trekking, fishing, boating, kayaking, scenic flights, star gazing, skiing, heli-skiing, ski touring, snow tubing park, cross country skiing, ice skating, water-skiing, windsurfing or simply soaking up the spectacular vistas.
WINERIES
There are several established quality vineyards and wineries within our immediate vicinity, wine tasting is available. We offer a selection of these fantastic local wines for your enjoyment.
GOLF
There are several very good golf courses in close proximity providing a good challenge with outstanding views. As we are keen golfers we would be happy to organise a golfing trip encompassing some of New Zealand's finest golf courses.
JET BOATING
We have our own jetboat and are able to provide this for watersports i.e. water skiing, fishing or pleasure rides.
NASEBY
Situated approx 1-1/2hrs drive from Waikora Station is the old gold mining town of Naseby, the capital of ice sports in New Zealand. International class indoor curling rink, several outdoor rinks and a luge. A delightful little town that is extremely popular for mountain biking and walking trails. Naseby is situated in the Maniototo which hosts the major part of the Central Otago Rail Trail.
SNOW -SKIING
There are several excellent ski fields within 1 - 2 hours drive our station.
WATER-SKIING
The lakes are very close to us and we are able to provide water skiing and wake boarding.
RODEO Several members of our family compete in the New Zealand rodeo circuit. During the summer months there are a number of rodeos held within a close distance to us.
